estoy limpiada

Let’s see if my title holds true. I don’t like to talk too much about the future because in my great opinion, it’s best not to have many expectations. Normally I assume the best or the worst, so I’ll mention that I’m headed to Otavalo tomorrow with a friend. There are big festivals happening and as always, a lovely artisan market to buy your norma Ecuadorian goods: hats, bags, chess boards, goats, you get the jist.

As for “being clean” my host mom said I was now wiped clean of my bad luck and being only slightly superstitious I found a penny heads up. I picked it up and didn’t find it afterward…it was only a penny.

After having my phone, wallet and part of my dignity stolen, temporarily losing my keys, sweater and umbrella, it’s time for some fun. *Fingers crossed* for this weekend. Long Live Otavalo!

The one night I go out…

The one night I go out, my cell phone disappears. No it probably wasn’t the best place to have it in my zippered rain jacket. But still, only 7 hours after I bought the damn thing, it’s stolen or fallen on the ground, then stolen. $44 down the toliet. “La vida no es dinero.” Yea but this sucks none the less.
